Donna is an awesome person!!! She is fun, sassy and just amazing. The Raleigh Beer Garden needs more people like her. This is one of my favorite spots and she just takes it to the next level. Keep up the great work!
Worst service in the state of NC
Second trip here and both times 30-45 minutes to get a beer
Ubered from downtown Raleigh to the beer garden. Got seated outside and had no server come up for over 10 minutes. Finally, a friendly male server approached us and offered to get us water until our server made her way over. He brought the water and several minutes later a female walked over and told us she would be with us in a few minutes. After watching her walk to 2 other tables we walked away and went to the dogwood bar & eatery next door and had a much much better experience!
So disappointed! First time at your restaurant. When we walked in, we got a very friendly welcome, and everyone was super nice and friendly. We got our first flights of beer, planning to stay awhile. We went up to get our second flight, and the bartender was horrible!!! He wouldn't acknowledge us and kept complaining how he had just taken 2 days off and couldn't find any beers. He seemed very frustrated and complained a lot. However, there were only approximately 7 or so people at the bar. (We were here on Friday, May 17 from 2-4. This was the lower first floor bar) . When he finally acknowledged us, we told him we each wanted a flight and food. 20 minutes later, he finally got back to us for our beer flights. Then told us to hold on and he'd be back to take our food orders. However, we each had finished our flights by the time he returned to take our food order. We had planned to stay, eat, and drink for several hours, but after that experience, we decided to pay our tab and leave. It was just horrible. First time there, probably won't ever be back. Too many breweries and beer gardens to choose one with such poor service.
The food that I ordered didn’t ever come.
I didn’t get the food that I ordered!
Last night, I called ahead to see if RBG would be able to accommodate a group of 15-20 girls to celebrate my 30th birthday. I was happy to see two tables set up for us in the back when we arrived. Then, the first thing out of our waiter (Tray's) mouth in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner was that we were NOT to go to the bar, we needed to tell our friends as they were coming in NOT to go to the bar and if we did go to the bar we would be kicked out of our table. So, we abided by these rules. It took ONE HOUR for me to get my drink, and I saw a handful of my friends wait 20+ minutes for a beer all for Tray to come back to tell them the beer they wanted was out. When Tray delivered me my drink he said, "The bartender said this isn't her favorite so its ok if you want to send it back," and while this message may have had good intentions, what I got from this is that she did not know how to properly make the drink.
It took another hour for us to get our food and one of my friends didn't receive her food at all. I had to track down Tray to tell him. He told me it was delivered to the wrong table. I do not think it was a coincidence that Tray was the ONLY one delivering our food to us, so what he really meant was that he brought it to the wrong table. I was extremely upset to see that a 20% gratuity had been added to each of our checks when Tray honestly was not even deserving of a 10% tip given his terrible attitude and delivery of service. The icing on the cake was that as we were SIGNING our checks, Tray came and told us there was another party arriving and we had to leave.
We are a group of graduate students and often groups from our cohort go to RBG. I can't think of a less deserving place to give our money to. If I called ahead and was told you could accommodate, I don't understand why you would give a party that large one waiter. On top of that, why you would give us a waiter who clearly hates people and should not be dealing with the general public. I am extremely disgusted with the lack of service here. We will not be bringing our business to your establishment again.
Food was cold, dried out, and our waitress didn't know how to group a tab for 3 people. I had to approach staff to get our tab paid after waiting 20 minutes for our waitress to return and even then we waited another hour for our credit card to be returned. Also, when the waitress did return another member of my party was told that her credit card had been dropped somewhere...Do not go here with a group to eat ever!!! Terrible service. Next time I have service like this I will just walk out. I will never ever go back to this establishment. Who cares about getting a good beer if you can't even enjoy it because the service is SO BAD.
I have never in my life been spoken to by a staff member the way I was spoken to at Raleigh Beer Garden. I had a simple question to ask; I approached a staff member and was immediately spoken down to and ignored. I will not return. My expectations were higher of this place.
Enjoyed one beer at 3:30 pm on a hot Monday. Parked right out front, left at 4:15 pm to find a ticket! No other cars had a ticket behind us and the cars where there at same time? Will we go back no!! Lazy hostess when I asked about parking did not mention 4:00pm you get a ticket!! At this point won’t even return to Raleigh their not getting loud money. And your establishment needs parking or deal with Raleigh!!
Last three visits...tables not cleaned. Entire place is sticky and smells. Staff to busy talking to each other to do their job. No menu for beer is just annoying, everyone has to look at their phone. The menu online is slow and not functional (no way to weed out what you do or don't want. Ordered two different beers of said menu and both were out. This confused our no helpful and still hungover server. Food is not the reason to go there. It's not too pricey but still not worth it. Gross and annoying. 3 strikes.
Those Five stars are not enough for the helpfulness Becky showed. Truely obliged by the service.
We would like to recognize Brooke. She was stellar during our 4/16/18 visit. She was cordial, friendly and took exceptional care of our party (9 people). Food & drinks were on point and Brooke truly gave us a great experience to remember. Will definitely be back to RBG!
My servers name was joespeh and he gave phenominal service, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was amazing, i will definitely be coming back.
I was disappointed with my last visit to the Beer Garden. Our server was pleasant but would not allow us to sample beers before purchasing them. She brought the incorrect beer and charged more than the stated price on the menu. With so many other craft beer options in Raleigh, service like this encourages me to look elsewhere in the future.
Very unfriendly and rude bartenders. I wouldn't recommend that place.
Went with a few buddies of mine and the food and service was outstanding! Amber defiantly was on top of everything
Went with my family and we had Amber Spencer has our waitress and she was excellent, loved her and the food!!!!!
Went with some friends the other day and it was amazing. Amber Spencer was our waitress and was perfect, definitely coming back because of her!
Went with some friends last weekend and we had a blast!!! Amber Spencer was our server and was on point!!! Will definitely be back.
We were in town with a large group to watch the ACC tourney this past weekend and loved spending time at the Beer Garden. Our waitress was fantastic and dealt with a large group of 15 people with ease! The beer selection is amazing, staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful! I will make it a point to visit every time I am in town! Thank you for making our weekend great!!
Kyle was absolutely the best well informed and knowledgeable beer guide I have ever had the experience of dealing with. Twice, I had him select a flight of NC local less heard of beers (hoping to get things I have not tried before) and both times I was super surprised with the variety that he picked. Definitely gonna be coming back here!
Kyle was the man. Very knowledgeable and gave us a great experience. 10/10
It was my first time there and it was such a fun experience!! Thanks to Kyle for the great service!
Me and my fiance could not wait to try out the new beer garden. The menu looked great beer selection awesome but the service was the worst we have ever had. We were telling the waitress our first order and in the middle of it she decided to walk away for reasons we dont know but being in the hospitality business for 10 years I understand the business and respect the waiters the hostesses the cooks and managers. She was by far the worst server I've ever had in my whole 36 years. Walking away from the table when they're in the middle of taking an order to do whatever she wanted to do extremely disrespectful and very unprofessional and bad for your business.
Very disappointed. Our "server" walked off while we were in the middle of ordering.
Although the food was AMAZING, I probably will never return due to the terrible service Amanda gave my table. She never checked on my table and we had to chase her down when we needed something. And she passed the table like 5 times. I've worked in restaurants in NYC and even at the busiest and most stressful times ALL tables were attended to and serviced.
Cute place and had a lot of beer options but I opened a tab at the bar and was charged for burgers I didn't order. The bartender and staff were very rude about it and kept making passive aggressive comments that insinuated I was lying. I felt very disrespected. After about 15 minutes it was ultimately corrected but not without its share of eye rolls and comments.
Using Facebook to get to a "Man in the Middle" attack on my connection that should be secure is BS.
Awesome place, awesome atmosphere and awesome beer selection. One of my favorite spots in Raleigh! And in N.C. for that matter!
I am a foreign national here in NC for 3 months. I was denied entry for not having any US issued ID, they didn't accept my country's driving license( with a photo and DOB, in English). I offered showing PICTURES of my passport and VISA since I did not carry the originals with me, but the guy at the gate very rudely refused to accept it.
I have been to the Raleigh Beer Garden many times (usually a wonderful place to go)... Which is saying a lot since we live an hour away. However, this experience was awful. Our table received the worst service. We waited about 10 mins to even get greeted which didn't really bother me but waiting 20 mins for drinks was quite annoying. We received our appetizer before drinks. We asked for waters and beers.... Never got the water until after we drank the beers. Asked for straws and never got those. The server (Andrew) says to us do you need anything else while I'm here... Yes the check ( we were going to order food and more drinks but after the rude service we just decided to leave). He got annoyed and walked off and came back 15 mins later. The rest of the staff was very friendly including the hostesses, the food and beer runners. I would have rather tipped them. We left as soon as he finally brought the check and went to another bar. Worst birthday restaurant experience ever.
The club sas quiet good but without one good reason they trought me out of the club.
The "Beer" selection is *Out of this World* and the food is excellent....the upper deck & outdoor seating A+!!!!!
Worst service I ever had. I Visited on a Thursday night two weeks ago, great service and food. So I took our family here Sunday around 4PM for an early dinner. We order a kids burger, The Beer Garden Burger, and the Summer Squash pizza. Both the burgers were burnt, (we ordered med rare), the adult burger was made with the orange marmalade bacon topping that we had asked to not have put on, and the there was no cheese on the kids burger, which we had asked to add. The kids burger was actually three pieces of a burger that were placed on the bun?? Also, not understanding how our food arrives before our drinks?? Sent the burgers back, so now we had one family member eating alone while the others waited for food. When the burgers arrived they were still burnt, complained to the server who shrugged his shoulders and told us, that the food here wasn't the greatest and the burgers especially are always dry. Wow! Your staff does not like your food! He asked us if we liked the food, we said no. He said: "Well I hope you still come back, and better luck next time." Seriously! Great concept, phenomenal facility, horrible service, horrible food, no consistency. A manager walked past several times, saw us sending the food back, never even stopped to ask why. My husband and I both work in the food and beverage industry, if we performed like at our jobs, we would be fired. If I spend $30 for a light meal, I expect that we would finish it, but it was not good at all. Still left the server a $5 tip, he seemed generally under-trained, unsure how to handle the poor service, and clearly did not believe in the food product. Please get this together, we live in downtown and want to see this business last, but based on today, it won't happen.
very slow service. Zero stars. If you are going out to eat, usually you get food brought to you with drinks and perhaps a smile and some semi respectable service. Tonight, none of that criteria was met. Anthony, our stoned invisible server, barely was able to give us our beer, forgivingly at first...but then it turned into the theme of the experience. As customers, we felt neglected in all accounts. Something most definitely went wrong. Our server must have forgotten to put our food in, and never was honest with us about it. In fact he blamed us saying "well you did order 3 pizzas", which are $10 personal pizzas served on naan bread,no dough cooking. I thought that was rude how our server never apologized for the extremely ridiculous long wait nor did he ever thank us. It was classic case of forgetting us because EVERYONE around us got food before us. We were enjoying our good company so didn't make s big deal about how awful our service was, but I am definitely never returning to the beer garden. At first I wanted to give Anthony the benefit of the doubt but by the end I felt no compassion for him. Clearly he didn't value his job, which trickled right down to our lousy experience.
If you can not find a beer here you like you do not like beer!
Great food, great beer selection and loved the outdoor seating!
